Foxes

  • The roundworm Toxocara Canis is a serious health risk associated with foxes. This parasite's eggs can be found in fox feces, contaminating soil and surfaces. If children come into contact with these contaminated areas and inadvertently ingest the eggs, they can develop a condition called toxocariasis, which can lead to serious symptoms, including blindness.
  • Mange, a skin disease caused by mites, can be carried by foxes. When dogs come into contact with affected foxes or contaminated environments, they can contract mange, leading to severe itching, hair loss, and possible secondary infections.
  • Pets, particularly smaller ones like rabbits or guinea pigs, can be at risk of attacks from foxes, leading to injury or death of the pets.
  • Foxes can foul lawns and patios by leaving droppings, which is not only unsightly but can also pose health risks due to potential parasites and diseases in the feces.
  • They have a tendency to dig up flower beds while hunting for food or creating dens, which can ruin the aesthetic and hard work put into gardening.
  • In their search for food, foxes often break into rubbish bins, creating litter and spreading garbage around gardens and streets.
  • Foxes are known for their loud noises, especially during the night, which can be disturbing to residents.
